Our growing team at a respected engineering and design firm specializing in commercial and healthcare projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned mechanical engineer who is ready to take ownership of projects, lead technical staff, and play a meaningful role in the direction of the firm. You'll work directly with firm principals and project managers, lead a team of engineers and designers, and have a clear path to continued growth within the organization. Why You'll Love Working Here Competitive base salary of $100,000-$125,000 with performance bonuses up to 30% Opportunity to lead meaningful projects including healthcare and commercial facilities Collaborative environment with direct interaction with firm leadership Clear career growth path — the next step is Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead II Stable firm with a strong project backlog and long-term opportunities Responsibilities Receive project assignments from firm principals and project managers and oversee execution from start to finish Assign drafting, modeling, and light design work to the production department and manage associated schedules Perform and review all engineering calculations, fieldwork, designs, and technical deliverables for accuracy Coordinate with vendors and develop long-term vendor relationships Attend client meetings and serve as a primary point of contact for project-related communication Lead specification development across assigned projects Support firm growth by assisting principals with RFQ responses and attending project interviews when strategically appropriate Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers, co-ops, and designers Participate in weekly leadership meetings and drive quarterly improvement efforts focused on firm efficiency, tools, and standards What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering 10+ years of professional experience in the A/E industry Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Experience on commercial projects beyond retail and residential Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Professional enthusiasm and commitment to technical excellence Located within approximately 1 hour of Akron, OH Proficiency with: ◦ Autodesk Revit ◦ Bluebeam PDF Editor ◦ HVAC Load Calculation Software ◦ Microsoft 365 Preferred Experience in healthcare facility design Prior experience in a lead or senior engineer capacity Experience mentoring engineers, co-ops, or designers
