Mechanical Field Engineer Job Description The Mechanical Field Engineer is a hands-on service role responsible for the disassembly, assembly, inspection, and servicing of industrial roll grinding machines. This position supports customers by maintaining, repairing, and re-building roll grinders to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys working on large industrial equipment, and approaches work with an engineering mindset — understanding not just how to fix equipment, but how it functions as a complete system. Responsibilities Disassemble, assemble, inspect, and service industrial roll grinding machines. Maintain, repair, and rebuild roll grinders to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance. Support customers by providing expert service and solutions to mechanical issues. Apply an engineering mindset to understand and solve equipment-related challenges. Essential Skills Hands-on experience working on industrial machinery. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble and disassemble heavy machinery. Experience in inspection and fitting of mechanical components. Additional Skills & Qualifications Engineering degree (nice to have). Work Environment The role involves working directly with large industrial equipment and requires a practical approach to mechanical challenges. The work environment is dynamic, focusing on servicing and maintaining high-performance machinery, ensuring equipment functions efficiently as part of a complete system. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alliance, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
