Position Summary Under the direction of the VP of Engineering, the Tool Room Manager leads tooling design, fabrication, implementation, and maintenance to support new product launches and ongoing manufacturing. This role partners with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to develop tooling solutions, fixtures, gauges, and assembly aids, that ensure products meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead daily Tool Room operations, including scheduling, performance, and technical support Manage tooling lifecycle: design, fabrication, validation, implementation, and maintenance Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to deliver tooling on time and within budget Support new product launches with prototype and production tooling Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of tooling, fixtures, and inspection aids Establish and manage preventative maintenance programs Drive continuous improvement in automation, ergonomics, and scrap reduction Maintain tooling documentation (CAD models, drawings, BOMs, LOTO, IssueTrak) Ensure SOPs and work instructions are followed for tool design and validation Lead change management and impact analysis for tooling and process updates Maintain a safe, organized Tool Room Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and develop Tool Room personnel, including: Tool Design Engineers Machinists Assign work, set priorities, and monitor team performance Develop and implement training programs to enhance team capability and technical skillsets Qualifications 5-10 years of tool room, manufacturing, or process engineering experience CAD/CAM programming experience required;FARO/CMM
experience preferred Strong background in tooling, jig, and fixture design Skills Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and 3D modeling (SolidWorks and/or CATIA) Experience with CAM, CMM, and metrology equipment Project management, cost estimating, and process engineering knowledge Strong organization and technical aptitude Education Associate Degree in Engineering (preferred) and/or Apprentice/Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification CMM/metrology training a plusBenefits:
