Job Description

Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic mechanical engineering team focused on designing, updating, and modifying large, high-speed equipment. The role is primarily centered on capital equipment design and support, along with standardization and technical documentation. Responsibilities Manage BOM and drawing changes through a standard revision/Engineering Change Order (ECO) process in a PDM controlled system. Design and develop parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, including creating models, assembly drawings, and manufacturing/fabrication drawings. Gather detailed information on vendor-supplied components and create vendor control drawings. Prepare additional mechanical support needed for projects, such as welding/machining fixtures, layout drawings, and field installation procedures. Convert legacy drawings from AutoCAD to SolidWorks. Check and review drawings and documents for accuracy and errors, ensuring designs and drawings are functional and manufacturable. Capture meeting notes from customer interactions to document the needs of customers and changes during projects. Track costs, including personal time and expenditures, to maintain budgets and notify appropriate resources of expanded costs. Document sources and history of design development throughout the project. Interact directly with customers to define the scope of work and understand their needs and wants. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. 3 plus years of equipment design experience. Experience in large fabrication or large/complex assembly design. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling. Experience utilizing PDM or other drawing vault systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with FEA and/or CFD. Experience in high-speed production/automation and automated equipment. Work Environment This is a fully onsite position in a large manufacturing facility equipped with automated equipment. The environment is very clean and attached to an updated office space. The facility is fast-paced with a focus on collaboration with assembly techs and operations, as well as programming HMIs and PLCs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eastlake, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
