Job Description

Role Overview:
We are looking for a Technical Account & Project Engineer to serve as the primary technical point of contact for an established portfolio of foundry customers. This role is a hybrid of Mechanical Design, Project Management, and Customer Relationship Management. You will be responsible for ensuring that our existing clients receive accurate quotes, high-quality CAD tooling designs, and seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
Serve as the lead contact for a portfolio of existing accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for project expansion within those accounts.
Technical Estimating:
Manage high-volume quoting (estimated 10-20 quotes per day) for sand-casting pattern tooling based on customer specifications and RFQs. Mechanical Design (Solidworks): Directly perform 3D CAD modeling for your sold projects. This includes creating drafted casting models and manufacturing-ready tooling models.
CAD Overflow Support:
Assist the CAD department with modeling and design work for other accounts during peak periods.
Project Management:
Manage the full lifecycle of every project in your portfolio. Responsible for material procurement, creating floor/CNC instructions, production scheduling, and coordinating final shipments.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years in a manufacturing environment (ideally in the molding/forming segment of the industry).
CAD Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of Solidworks for mechanical design. Ability to create manufacturing-ready 3D models from 2D prints or customer concepts.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of molding processes and tooling requirements (draft, shrink, parting lines, etc.).
Organizational Skills:
Proven ability to manage diverse projects while maintaining a high volume of daily quotes.
