WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you'll lead the design and execution of automation systems that integrate Makino machining centers with robotics and material handling solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Design automation equipment such as end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, safety systems, and system layouts
Develop complete design packages (3D models, drawings, BOMs, documentation)
Perform mechanical analysis (tolerance stack-ups, stress, deflection, etc.)
Conduct robot reach studies and support system layout development
Partner with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and customers from concept through final system acceptance
Support fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting of automated systems
Lead design reviews and contribute to project cost estimates and proposals
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide practical, cost-effective solutions
Stay current on emerging automation technologies and recommend design improvements
