Position Summary The Mechanical Engineer II is a new role which is part of a new GI Reprocessing Capital Equipment Sustaining Engineering team that will support multiple product lines. This role will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and cross functional teams to provide product lifecycle and sustaining engineering support. The position will utilize problem solving techniques and engineering principles such as machine design, thermodynamics, heat transfer, material selection and fabrication to troubleshoot technical issues and develop solutions through design, simulation, testing and design control documentation.
What You'll Do As A Mechanical Engineer II Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D modelling software and analysis tools, employing a design for manufacturability mindset, and incorporating strong engineering judgement
Develop hydraulic and pneumatic system designs and generate piping and instrumentation diagrams. Provide meaningful input into electro-mechanical system designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineers, designers and technicians to ensure that all design aspects are aligned with the program's goals
Perform product verification and validation actions and documentation activity
Effectively communicate technical information to management and project leadership; preparing polished presentation materials and facilitating discussion
Work with outside vendors to ensure components used are appropriate for use and delivered on time
Develop Subject Matter Expertise in subsystems and mechanical technologies.
Create technical documents for testing, crating, shipping, installation etc.
Evaluate and write technical requirements, demonstrating adherence to relevant industry standards.
Own responsibility for schedule and scope of defined project deliverables
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed Required:
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field is required.
Minimum 3 years of Mechanical engineering experience is required
Excellent Verbal and written communication skills is required
Working understanding project management and project scheduling
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across various engineering disciplines
Track record of successful project deliverable execution
Strong Engineering Analysis Skills
Knowledge of advanced 3D modelling and drawing practices. Preferred:
Computational Modelling experience (FEA, CFD, etc.)
Hydraulic and Pneumatic system experience
Med-tech experience
Experience with PLM systems
Product testing and validation experience
Experience with sheet metal fabrication and welding
Exposure to project management fundamentals

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
