codes & standards Organizational skills FEA Project leadership Drafting Full Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design and development of mechanical systems, equipment, and specialized machinery. This role is critical in ensuring designs are robust, cost-effective, and manufacturable, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and operations. This position requires regular on-site presence in Tulsa and offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact equipment and systems.

$122,000 - $127,000 annually Position Overview The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design efforts, guide designers and drafters, and support projects from concept through production and field implementation. This role combines hands-on engineering work with leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment to support manufacturing and product development Create and review 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) Develop complete engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and specifications Provide technical direction and mentorship to designers and drafters Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, and field teams to ensure design feasibility and serviceability Support prototype development, testing, and validation of new equipment Troubleshoot mechanical issues in both production and field environments Perform engineering analysis including stress, load, and tolerance evaluations Research and specify materials, components, and equipment Partner with procurement and operations to support sourcing and vendor alignment Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reduce costs Ensure designs meet company standards, quality requirements, and regulatory expectations Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control Support design verification, validation, and risk mitigation efforts Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for engineering issues Collaborate with quality and production teams to resolve non-conformances Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred) Minimum 7+ years of experience in mechanical design of industrial equipment or automated machinery Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software Experience designing mechanical systems, structures, and moving assemblies Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials Experience with engineering analysis methods (FEA preferred) Strong understanding of GD&T and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5) Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Prior experience mentoring or leading technical team members Strong communication and organizational skills What We're Looking For A technical leader who can guide projects and people Someone who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment A hands-on engineer who can balance design, analysis, and real-world application A problem-solver focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
