Job Description

Position Summary This role is responsible leading and executing facility improvements, capital projects, and tooling projects. These projects support day-to-day operations to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are met. This role provides technical leadership on the shop floor, with contractors, and maintenance teams. Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility for capital project execution and facility improvements.
  • Use data-driven methods to prioritize improvement opportunities and justify capital expenditures & plant expense.
  • Drive facility improvements regarding predictive and preventive maintenance and overall equipment reliability
  • Regularly communicate, coordinate, and schedule contractors.
  • Regularly work with Safety to ensure ergonomic, environmental, and other factors are considered.
  • Provide technical and facility expertise while working with internal and external project teams.
  • Prepare and present capital requests to all levels of leadership and stakeholders.
  • Complete tooling requests, designs, and lead continuous improvement tooling projects
  • Manage tool orders with vendors
  • Champion safety, engagement, customer experience, profitable growth, and financial performance in alignment with the Win Strategy™.
  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tooling, workflows, and layouts for quality, efficiency, and ergonomics.
  • Identify and execute cost-reduction projects while maintaining or improving quality and delivery
  • Specify, justify, and implement new equipment, fixtures, and tooling to support production requirements.
  • Ensure processes comply with applicable standards, regulations, and customer requirements
  • Serve as a technical mentor to manufacturing engineers, technicians, and operators
  • Provide training on new processes, equipment, and standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, project charters, and presentations for stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience in project leadership
  • Detailed knowledge of project management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally with contractors and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume increasing responsibility.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and/or verbal procedures, processes, and instructions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced degree in a related Engineering field or business
  • Program or project management certificate
