Job Description
- Lead the engineering functions across the division ensuring capability alignment to meet business objectives. Attracts and retains a talented, diverse engineering team.
- Partner with product management to set the product roadmap and waterline strategy to grow the business with winning new products and technologies.
- Partners with VP of Engineering to maintain/refine a 5-year technology roadmap and continuously improve and standardize the Eaton Business System engineering elements across product lines.
- Sustain all product lines overseeing Product Line Support (PLS) teams in plants.
- Collaborate cross functionally and with customers/suppliers, to ensure smooth introduction of new products, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
- Champion changing technologies and best practices, with a focus on Energy Transition trends, IoT/digital technology, power electronics, codes/standards for electrical safety and additive manufacturing.
- Partner with the Program Management function to execute project schedules incorporating resource management, milestone deliverables, and administration of Prelaunch and PROLaunch projects.
- Develop and oversee advanced technology programs with Eaton Research Labs.
- Coordinate work across global engineering locations for PCD in Pittsburgh, PA; Beaver, PA; Horseheads, NY; Belmont, NC; Arecibo P.R.; Santo Domingo, D.R.; Haina, D.R.; Pune, India.
- Manage R D expense and Capital spending for the division. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, Master/ MBA Preferred.
- 15+ years of product engineering experience with a focus on new product development, with 7 + years of people leadership
- Proven experience in power distribution, UL and IEC safety standards.
- Understanding of the Electrical Power Distribution market, regulatory influences, the competitive landscape, and broader context of the business strategy
- Proficiency in software, cloud, firmware, electronics and application development.
- Experience with product liability and product patent matters.
- Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent.
- Knowledge of current engineering techniques, practices, and engineering standards All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
