Job Description

Miller Brother Staffing Solutions is seeking qualified candidates for a Tooling Engineer position with a company in Erie, County. This is a 1st shift position with a salary range of $50-75K/year.
Tooling Engineer Shift:
1st-optional 8am-5pm Monday through Friday or 6am-4:30pm Monday through
Friday Salary Range:
$50,000-$75,000 annually
Screening Process:
resume submission to the company, two interview process that includes the owners of the company. Reference/Fact check.

$50,000-$75,000 annually •Candidate must pass a drug screen and be open to a criminal background check•Job Summary The Tooling Engieneer will design and develop high-precision progressive, compounds and transfer dies to ensure efficient production. Key responsibilities include optimizing die designs using CAD software, troubleshooting stamping defects (e.g., burrs, splits), reducing downtime, and managing tooling vendors. They require strong knowledge of metal forming and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Key Responsibilities Die Design & Optimization:
Design, modify, and improve stamping dies and tooling components to enhance production efficiency and part quality.
Troubleshooting:
Resolve tooling malfunctions and defects (e.g., galling, misfeeds) on the production floor to minimize downtime.
Process Improvement:
Implement engineering changes, optimize stamping speed, and improve material utilization (die stripping, scrap reduction).
Documentation:
Create and maintain technical documentation, including die drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and preventative maintenance schedules.
Feasibility Studies:
Evaluate customer designs for manufacturability and cost feasibility.
Qualifications and Skills Experience:
3-5+ years of experience in metal stamping, tool and die design, or manufacturing engineering.
Software Proficiency:
Strong proficiency in CAD software
Auto Desk CAD, Auto Desk Inventor Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of progressive die construction, materials, and heat treatment.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the United States Physical Requirements This position often requires both office work and time spent on the factory floor, requiring the ability to work around heavy machinery.
