Pittsburg, PA onsite contract
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong experience in the mechanical design of Static Equipment including Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers, Columns, Pressure Vessels, and Storage Tanks. Solid understanding of industry codes and standards such as ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2, TEMA, IBR, API 620, API 650, API 660, API 12F, and API 12D. Hands-on experience with engineering design software including PV Elite, Compress, and NozzlePro. Ability to effectively coordinate and resolve technical issues with clients, vendors, and internal departments. Good understanding of various Materials of Construction (MOC) including Carbon Steel (CS), Stainless Steel (SS), Low Alloy Steel (LAS), Low Temperature Carbon Steel (LTCS), Cladded Steel, and related materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle and execute individual equipment requisitions within project timelines and quality standards. Perform detailed mechanical design calculations and engineering for Columns, Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, and Storage Tanks. Review and verify in-house engineering drawings as well as vendor documentation for compliance with project specifications and applicable standards. Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables in line with project schedules and workflow requirements. Prepare purchase specifications, technical bid evaluations, and clarification documents for procurement activities. Coordinate closely with vendors during design, fabrication, and documentation review stages. Provide technical support and engineering inputs to cross-functional departments including Process, Piping, Civil, and Procurement teams. Participate in meetings with clients, internal stakeholders, and vendors to address technical discussions and project deliverables. Support project execution activities and collaborate with team members to achieve engineering milestones. Review Vendor Data Reports (VDR) and provide technical approvals for various static equipment packages. Maintain compliance with ISO and Quality Assurance procedures and documentation standards. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for smooth review and approval of vendor submissions and engineering documents.
