Valley Green, PA (Harrisburg Area) AICC, a division of Amphenol, is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobil Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The position will be located in Valley Green, PA. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer for connector Mezzanine Products you will be responsible for mechanical connector design, mechanical analysis, front end customer support and supporting new business opportunities. This position will serve as the key mechanical development engineer representative in the connector design group to support new connector design at customers, component, documentation, and quality issues as they arise. The position will work as part of a global cross-functional team and include customer interaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop innovative product solutions. Review product designs ensure product performance and customer requirements are met. Utilize 3D CAD software to develop derivative designs. Prepare samples for development studies and DOEs. Analyze designs utilizing Finite element analysis. Collect, record, and analyze data. Develop and review product performance specifications. Ensure projects are completed on time. Ensure connector derivative designs are cost effective. Work with component suppliers to bring up new designs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5 to 10 years of mechanical design experience. Proficient in 3D modeling using Solidworks. General understanding of drawing standards such as
ASME Y14.5.
General knowledge of component tooling DFM. General understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global). Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously. Finite element analysis (FEA) experience is a plus. General knowledge of molding, stamping, plating is a plus. This position requires access to controlled technology that is subject to US export controls. Qualified candidates must be a US Person (including US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) or eligible to obtain required authorization(s) from the U.S. Government.
