Job Description:
Longterm contract Mechanical Engineer located in Cranberry Twp, PA. You will report to the Manager of Hardware Engineering.
Your Day-to-Day:
Design mechanical components and assemblies to ensure seismic integrity and ease of manufacturing. This includes creating 3D models and design packages for cabinets, internal custom metal work, fastener design and fabrication. Help design cabinet hardware electrical applications and assemblies Manage Bill of Material and revision control of mechanical design packages. Compile technical and quality documentation for procurement, testing and manufacturing of hardware products. Work with manufacturing and outside fabricators to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products observe build-to-print drawing packages and specifications Communicate with engineering organizations and third-party test facilities in conducting equipment qualification tests. Perform engineering calculations to support design or analysis of products. Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international) Accomplish assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements. Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
Who You Are:
Minimum of B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience/Requirements:
3+ years of experience with sheet metal design Knowledge of AWS (or equivalent) welding requirements General knowledge of sheet metal welding Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault (or similar) experience Experience with Geometric Tolerances and Dimensions (ASME Y14.5) Ability to be part of a team including engineering, testing, manufacturing, supply chain management, and suppliers
