# of Openings 1 Job Family Technical Services & Development Workplace Type On-Site Overview This role will be responsible for developing new polymer technology platforms and new polymer products and compounds to meet the medium (2-3 years) and longer term (> 3 year) needs of Asia Pacific market. Our priority markets are Consumer Electronics and Medical as well as potential adjacent markets like Electrical and high quality home appliances and consumer wearable. The employee will be needed to have in-depth understanding of the application requirement and identify the development trend to ensure Trinseo's leadership position in the market segment. The employee should also work with commercial team to develop new accounts or solve the technical problems for existing customers. Responsibilities 1. Identify application development opportunities and define product technologies for key market segments. 2. Drive new market development through the introduction of new or existing products. 3. Provide training and coaching to colleagues to enhance team capability Qualifications
    Education:
    • Masters or Ph.D in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering or Chemical Engineering to quality for position
    Experience:
    (range of years and type of experience)
    • 3 years +
    • Application knowledge and customer network
    • Plastics processing experience
    • Broad knowledge of plastic fabrication and polymer science will be preferred
    • Formulation of engineering plastics, injection molding, compounding and application development experiences will be valuable
    Communication:
    (verbal, written, instructional etc )
    • Mandarin speaker with good command of English
    • Frequent domestic traveling is necessary and overseas traveling will be required occasionally
