Full-Time Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support mechanical design efforts from initial concept through production, including new product design, existing product redesign, manufacturing drawings, technical documentation, and engineering support. This role will work closely with manufacturing, quality, sales, purchasing, project management, vendors, and customers to support design accuracy, product improvements, and issue resolution. Responsibilities Maintain customer, project, and drawing files according to engineering department standards Operate CAD/CAE equipment to complete design assignments Create 3D solid models of components and assemblies Assist drafters with the use of 3D solid models Create manufacturing drawings for repairs, replacement parts, and related components Review customer drawings, specification drawings, and applicable requirements to determine feasibility Work with manufacturing teams to resolve manufacturing and design issues Support cost reduction and product improvement initiatives Collaborate with customers, sales, engineering, and mechanical services teams on design-related issues Work with quality, sales, and internal teams to address customer repair or rejection concerns Participate in engineering and general design reviews as needed Prepare proposal documentation, customer reports, special reports, and technical data Communicate with customers regarding engineering design questions or issues Coordinate with vendors regarding supplied or proposed parts Work cross-functionally with purchasing, quality control, sales, shop, scheduling, project management, and accounting teams Keep leadership updated on work status, workload, problems, and progress Learn to locate documents, OEM drawings, engineered drawings, and related resources Perform engineering calculations as required Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent relevant experience 1-5 years of relevant manufacturing, engineering, or mechanical experience Experience with CAD/CAE tools and 3D solid modeling Ability to read and review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Strong collaboration and teamwork skills Ability to multitask based on business needs Excellent time management skills Safety-oriented mindset Ability to travel occasionally to power plants and access industrial environments, including confined spaces, climbing, crawling, and walking through units Preferred Qualifications Mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing, power generation, hydro, or heavy industrial environments Experience creating manufacturing drawings for repairs, replacement parts, or custom components Experience working with manufacturing, quality, vendors, and customers on design-related issues Company Benefits & Culture Our client offers the opportunity to support hands-on mechanical engineering work in a technical manufacturing and power generation environment.
