OVERVIEW

As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Summer/Fall 2026 Co-Op to join our Core Technology Team in Rockleigh, NJ. This role is critical to shaping departmental operations and driving efficiency across product teams. The position is designated as Hybrid (in office days:

TUE/WED/THU

• remote days: MON/FRI).

Crestron Co-Ops can expect to be challenged with meaningful projects and tasks alongside professionals and subject matter experts in the field. Each Co-Op is assigned a dedicated mentor responsible for their development and acclimation to the company. Crestron also provides a variety of training and networking opportunities to participants in the program, aiming to present a comprehensive experience that enhances both technical and non-technical skill sets and prepares students for their professional careers. RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and prototype AI solutions that run locally on edge devices. Experiment with local LLMs and other AI models for real-time, offline functionality in the development of proof-of-concept applications integrating AI into Crestron's ecosystem Evaluate hardware platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, ARM-based SoCs, NPU accelerators) for AI performance and power efficiency. Collaborate with senior engineers to assess feasibility and scalability of AI-driven features. Document findings and present recommendations for potential product integration.

QUALIFICATIONS

General Requirements Must be enrolled in a college or university working toward a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI/ML, or related field. Master's degree preferred. 1-2 years of experience in product management, operations, or a related role (internship or co-op experience preferred) Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during the entire internship period Must be commutable to and from the Rockleigh, NJ area for the duration of the Co-Op Must have permanent, unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the future. Technical Skills Hands-on experience with local LLMs (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, GPT-based models) and AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow). Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with C++ is a plus. Knowledge of edge hardware platforms and accelerators for AI workloads. Understanding of model optimization techniques (quantization, pruning, distillation). Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment. Other Skills Must be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product. Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening) with the ability to articulate work at different levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving skills. Inquisitive individuals with a desire to learn, possessing a long-term desire to work in developing next generation audio solutions. Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously. Positive, personable, and able to work cohesively with others across various divisions.
