Job Title:
Product Engineer Job Description We are seeking an Electro-Mechanical focused Product Engineer to design, build, and support electromechanical products used in behavioral science research. The primary focus of this role is mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and implementation. Additional responsibilities include evaluating electrical components and understanding firmware/software interactions. You will develop new products, improve existing designs, and ensure they are manufacturable and reliable. This role involves hands-on device assembly, troubleshooting, and working directly with customers to resolve technical issues. It also provides specialized technical support, including travel to Europe a few times per year to install equipment, train users, and perform advanced troubleshooting. You will work closely with leadership, external manufacturing partners, and internal teams to bring innovative, high-quality products to market. Responsibilities Design electromechanical parts, assemblies, and systems from concept through production. Develop new products and improve existing designs for manufacturability and reliability. Assemble and troubleshoot electromechanical devices. Work directly with customers to resolve technical issues and provide on-site support. Travel to Europe several times per year to install equipment, train users, and perform advanced troubleshooting. Collaborate with leadership, external manufacturing partners, and internal teams to bring products to market. Essential Skills Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Experience in mechanical design, prototyping, and hardware integration. Ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems and assist with firmware/software interactions. Strong communication skills for customer interaction. Experience in analyzing tolerances, materials, manufacturability, and assembly workflows. Additional Skills & Qualifications BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. At least 5 years of related exerience Familiarity with CAD, electronics, sensors, and basic programming concepts. Ability to travel up to 10%, including international travel to Europe. Comfortable working hands-on with tools, prototypes, and small assemblies. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Work Environment This position requires working onsite with some remote flexibility for early meetings with international clients. The small-company environment offers broad exposure and diverse experience with real growth opportunities and the ability to influence products directly. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chula Vista, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $125000.00/yr. full benefits ranging from health, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, vacation, sick pay Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Chula Vista,CA.
