Job Title:
Fixed Equipment Engineer Job Description The Fixed Equipment Engineer - Capital Projects provides technical leadership and engineering expertise for the design, specification, evaluation, and execution of fixed equipment systems such as pressure vessels, tanks, piping, and exchangers across capital projects. This role ensures projects are designed and executed in compliance with company standards, industry codes, and mechanical integrity expectations, while supporting safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. Responsibilities Provide fixed equipment engineering support across all phases of capital projects including FEL, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning. Review and approve engineering design packages for pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks, and heat exchangers. Ensure project designs comply with company standards, industry practices, and regulatory requirements. Support procurement, fabrication, inspection, and construction activities related to fixed equipment. Collaborate with EPC contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues. Apply industry codes for design, repair, and alteration of fixed equipment systems. Evaluate equipment design, stress analysis, and conduct fitness-for-service assessments. Provide technical recommendations for new installations, modifications, and equipment upgrades. Assist in developing inspection, testing, and mechanical integrity strategies tied to project scope. Identify and resolve technical risks during design and execution phases. Support risk register management and issue resolution for project teams. Participate in hazard reviews, PHA, and Management of Change (MOC) processes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
