Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC) Join a collaborative engineering team designing innovative HVAC and building systems for complex healthcare, laboratory, research, higher education, corporate, and technology facilities. This role provides hands-on experience working alongside senior engineers while contributing to the design, analysis, and implementation of sophisticated mechanical systems from concept through construction. Ideal for early-career mechanical engineers looking to expand their technical expertise in HVAC design, energy modeling, construction documentation, and building infrastructure systems within a multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities Design and develop HVAC and mechanical building systems for new construction and renovation projects. Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents that comply with client requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes. Perform system evaluations, load calculations, energy analysis, and cost comparisons to support design decisions. Assist with building energy modeling and system performance simulations. Support construction administration activities, including reviewing installations and verifying compliance with design intent. Conduct field surveys, site investigations, and prepare site visit reports. Develop project specifications and Statements of Special Inspections for assigned projects. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Working knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical building infrastructure. Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prepare technical documentation and construction drawings. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and engineering analysis software. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer through internships, co-ops, or full-time employment. Experience with energy modeling or building performance simulation software. Exposure to healthcare, laboratory, research, higher education, corporate, or technology facility projects. Familiarity with construction administration processes and field observations.
