Job Description
Product/Mechanical Engineer What You'll Do Work from a product roadmap to develop original designs for aftermarket automotive products Follow projects all the way through from conceptual design to launch and field support - including rapid prototyping, design documentation, cost analysis, vendor sampling, installation testing, performance validation, and quality control oversight. Work not only in an office on CAD, RP production, and vendor communication but also in our vehicle bays on company or customer vehicles to install and test your designs. Troubleshoot issues identified by customers on existing products and recommend solutions. Collaborate with on-site and remote team members to maintain deadlines and work through a provided priority list. Work in a fast paced environment where you will see your designs come to life in weeks not years. Be a part of a small, collaborative team that is focused on winning. Who You Are Passion for cars, experience modifying cars a plus. Organized with proven time management ability and thrive in a fast paced environment. Detail-oriented with excellent innate problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficient with CAD software and a wrench. Collaborative team member who is willing to work with multiple cross functional departments to produce the best content possible. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. 1-5 years of experience in product development desired. Ability to travel occasionally to shows and events.
Requirements Experience:
5-10 years in mechanical product development, ideally within the automotive aftermarket.Sourcing:
Proven track record of coordinating with overseas manufacturing relationships.Technical Skills:
History of owning the design and development of mechanical consumer products and proven success of taking them from idea to market.Shop Capability:
