• from Antarctica to the remote Pacific Islands.

WATC was created to recognize the aplishments and growing stature of nuclear treaty monitoring support programs at the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. WATC operates and maintains more than twenty infrasound and seismic arrays worldwide, providing real-time data that are used for monitoring nuclear proliferation, volcanic eruptions, and earthquake activity. This position will help maintain stations through fieldwork and remote monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure high data availability and quality. Our ideal candidate will have experience in operating, maintaining, and calibrating broadband seismometers. This position will help design, operate, monitor and maintain power andmunication systems supporting global seismo-acoustic stations. Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree and two years research experience at the postgraduate level in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalentbination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is full/part-time, Grade 80, term-funded, exempt, 12-month positionplete with apetitive salary and UA employee benefits package. UA provides a generouspensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, based on education and experience.
