Parsons is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work 100% remotely within the U.S. Candidates must be located in Washington or Oregon.What You'll Be Doing:
Creating feasibility studies and conceptual designs for process plant expansion and modification projects. Evaluating impacts of various design scenarios on existing production and future operability. Integrating customer requirements into the design process for mechanical and ventilation systems. Coordinating interdisciplinary requirements to develop building layouts and utility requirements. Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable. Prepare standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Review small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assist in performing technical bid analyses. Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 8+ years of related work experience. Experience with nuclear material handling, nuclear fuels, air permitting, and NRC requirements preferred. Experience in chemical process design projects, including rotating equipment selection and specification, developing and reading P&IDs, and managing equipment lists. Experience with industrial ventilation design. Knowledge of material handling systems for bulk containers. Experience working on interdisciplinary teams to design modifications to existing chemical process systems. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineeringSecurity Clearance Requirement:
