  • 45283) NPAworldwide Recruitment Network update Last updated: May/01/2026 Job Description The Static Equipment Engineer is responsible for supporting the Company Operations.
This role reports to the Integrity Engineering Supervisor and provides support across Terminals and Plant Facilities. Based in Sabine Pass, this position partners closely with Projects, Maintenance, and Operations teams to support Integrity Program implementation, provide day-to-day operational support, and deliver mechanical integrity scopes for both maintenance and capital projects. Essential Duties / Functions 1. Leadership and Strategic Priorities Develop and Steward the Integrity Program under support of SSHE, Regulatory, and legal as required. In context of mechanical integrity scopes, support RCFA and Bad Actor program stewardship and reporting, as well as action development, RBWS and closure plans. Ensure timely ALT visibility of reliability/availability risks and impact (e.g., list of open or overdue ES tasks/PMs with risks) 2. Day to Day Responsibilities Integrity Assessment and Analysis Developing repair plans for all static equipment Develop or update static equipment strategy Assesses and repairs corrosion anomalies, deformations, or cracks Review reports in PCMS and raise repair notifications where required Develop inspection scope of work packages for any follow-up inspection requests Development or evergreening of equipment strategies Provide mechanical integrity engineering support to daily plant operations (e.g. modifications, upgrades, repairs, maintenance, new construction and applications) Develop monitoring rounds for Operator Care program Evaluate loads, perform stress analysis/design verifications, and perform fitness-for-service assessments of equipment, and advise Operations on residual risk, testing programs and equipment strategies. Develop repair and/or mitigation programs as required Complete required material selection, review of contractor material recommendations, coordination of compatibility reviews, and development of chemical qualification testing to support ongoing operations, maintenance, or projects activities in the facility Responsible for coordinating analysis of any issues identified during inspection programs and development of mitigation / management plans with respect to materials issues (corrosion, cracking, etc.) Write, review, and update integrity management manuals based on continuous learning and inspection data Steward implementation of inspection data into integrity data management software program (PCMS) Collect data for regulatory reports, key performance indicators, engineering surveillance health monitoring tasks Assess inspection findings and provide conditions and probability recommendations following Company standards Provide interim risk to respective FIMS Program Preventive Maintenance tasks that are past their Latest Acceptable Completion Date (LACD) Corrosion Control and Prevention Monitor and troubleshoot CP systems (sacrificial anodes or impressed current) to stop electrochemical corrosion Regulatory Reporting Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance for integrity scope through interface with Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory, and Legal Functions for Terminal facilities Prepare or update Manuels, IMP and face Regulatory Audits for pipelines and plant Project Support Assist project for framing scope of integrity related activities and gather appropriate Company specifications to include in the SoW Support Maintenance in the oversight of integrity inspection contractors or other contractors completing integrity scopes of work Generate and steward MOCs to completion and provide clear information and communication
Qualifications:
Minimum education required of the position Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering or a related field of study Minimum experience required of the position Minimum of ten years of experience in Mechanical Integrity Engineering or a related engineering field within the oil and gas industry; LNG experience preferred Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position In-depth knowledge of static equipment integrity, including repair plan development, integrity strategies, hydrotesting, and remaining life assessment Strong understanding of failure mechanisms, including corrosion (internal/external), fatigue, cracking, and mechanical deformation (e.g., dents, gouges, buckles) Working knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME
B31.3, ASME B31.8, API 510, API 570
) Knowledge of Facility Integrity Management Systems (FIMS) or similar integrity/corrosion programs, including development and implementation Understanding of materials engineering concepts, including alloys, material selection, welding, coatings, and repair methodologies for pressurized equipment Advanced knowledge of corrosion science, electrochemical processes, and cathodic protection design and monitoring Knowledge of inspection methodologies, NDE technologies, and Fitness-for-Service (API 579) assessment principles Ability to develop and implement mechanical integrity strategies and equipment repair plans Skilled in evaluating equipment condition, including remaining life assessments and defect evaluation Ability to perform or support cathodic protection calculations, surveys, and corrosion mitigation strategies Proficiency in interpreting and applying industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements Experience planning and supporting inspection scopes, major turnarounds, and maintenance activities Ability to manage contractor interfaces (inspection, corrosion, chemical services) to ensure quality and compliance Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills to support operational and integrity-related challenges Ability to utilize and learn systems such as CMMS, integrity data management systems (IDMS), historians, and MOC tools Ability to apply engineering judgment to assess risk, prioritize work, and support safe, reliable operations Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines Ability to collaborate effectively across Safety, Operations, Maintenance, and Projects teams Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to a variety of stakeholders Ability to support continuous improvement initiatives through adoption of new technologies and practices Ability to support field activities, including inspections, assessments, and troubleshooting efforts Required Job Competencies for this position Safety & Integrity Mindset
