ORA_ON_SITE Description SAIC is seeking an organized and motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer in Middletown, RI who will work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of mechanical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication.
Job Duties:
Design mechanical systems for underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware for land-based testing of naval systems. Create fabrication drawings of all hardware. Create technical data package for systems and control configuration management of the drawings. Tasking will include project management of products assigned, including resource management, scheduling, inventory management and quality assurance of products. Work directly with vendors and manufacturers of mechanical systems and custom assemblies to ensure on time and sufficient deliverables. Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities. Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion. Ability to interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan and report status. Qualifications Qualifications B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and zero (0) years of relevant experience. Experience with engineering design, modeling, and drawing development in SolidWorks. Experience creating technical data package quality drawings using GD&T Project management experience preferred.
