Drive specification sheets required for sourcing Mechanical Equipment (Static and Rotating, i.e. pumps, tanks, agitators, heat exchangers)
Develop financial estimates for equipment for technoeconomic analysis inputs
Lead process equipment selection, including tradeoffs and design
Compile Request for Quotation (RFQ) Documents for vendors and complete technical bid evaluations for determining the best vendor for Tesla
Evaluate vendor capability to meet project technical and lead-time goals
Responsible for vendors, ensuring timely delivery of engineering deliverables and equipment
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil, controls teams to ensure prompt review and delivery of deliverables required for process equipment installation
Procure new equipment / change existing equipment design as needs arise
Develop commissioning and ramp plan including process setpoints, KPIs, and go/no-go criteria
Coordinate with production engineers to develop SOPs, Standard Operating Conditions, Alarm Rationalization, etc. What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
2-8 years experience in a mechanical engineering role with a focus in plant design including demonstrated practical experience in large operating plants/refineries
Strong fundamental understanding of engineering principles (e.g., mass & energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to use first-principles reasoning to fill knowledge gaps
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
Familiarity with Mechanical Design Software preferred (Autodesk, Solidworks)
Experience analyzing datasets and using data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) to build a business case or present data
Familiarity with International Codes and Standards (ASME, API, ISO, OSHA)
Willingness to travel to Project Sites (Up to 50% Travel) Compensation and Benefits
