Job Description

Summary At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. You bring passion and dedication to your job, and there's no telling what you could accomplish! We are looking for a Thermal Engineering Technician to join our Thermal Product Design team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in characterizing thermal architecture and validating the thermal performance of Apple's hardware and software across Apple's ecosystem of hardware products. You'll work hands-on with development hardware, conduct detailed testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our products deliver optimal thermal performance. Description As part of Apple's Thermal Design Team, you'll collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to design and execute detailed test plans and report results. Your work involves collecting data, disassembling, modifying, and reassembling Apple's products to ensure optimal functionality. You'll work in labs, instrumenting and setting up devices to validate new features, bug fixes, and improvements don't negatively impact thermal performance. You may also provide technical setup and support for internal investigations, product demonstrations, and technical challenges, configuring and troubleshooting hardware, software, and test equipment. This multi-faceted role requires you to adapt quickly, building complex test plans, dissecting automation scripts, and managing lab setups and equipment for efficiency. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Lab Technician, QA Technician, or in a related technical role. Experience conducting hardware and software testing in macOS or iOS environments. Proficiency with Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages. Experience with test equipment such as DMMs, Power Supplies, and eLoads. Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve hardware and software issues. Excellent attention to detail in analyzing and documenting test results. Outstanding oral and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams. Ability to organize and prioritize day-to-day work into efficient, sustainable workflows. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in thermal measurement methods and infrared camera operation. Experience with 3D CAD tools. Knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems, including DC circuits and soldering. Experience with MATLAB or Python for data analysis. Associate or Bachelors's Degree in a Technical Discipline
