Job Description
Job Description As a member of the Safran Seats business, you play a major role in teamwork that provides over one million seats to major airlines worldwide. Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)
Objective:
Under general supervision, this position performs design coordination of seats and seat components. Coordinates changes with other internal company departments, vendors, and customers. 2. Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities) Main Function Responsibilities- A) Reviews specification as related to assigned job.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree (minimum of 12 years equivalent related engineering experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree).
- Or a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree B. Work Experience
- Technical knowledge
- plus an additional 2 years of related design experience required with Bachelors degree
- plus 1 year of related design experience required with Masters degree C. Professional Skills
- Must have excellent drafting skills in
CATIA V5
(or higher) and/or Pro/Engineer.- Must be able to provide complicated lay-outs and program design studies.
- Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
- Ability to read and review written communication.
- Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English. D. Behavioral Skills
- Must be able to interact successfully with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing departments.
- Must be able to function as part of a design team. E. Desirable Aspects
- APQP, D&PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D Problem Solving etc.
