Full Job Description JOB ID:
729497BR Date posted: May. 26, 2026
Description:
You will be the Mechanical Design Engineering Technology Manager (ETM) for the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Increment 1 Production Team. Our team drives the transition from design to full rate production, delivering high performance missile hardware that meets aggressive schedule and cost targets while supporting fielded systems and the USG customer. As the ETM you will lead a technical group of engineers, SMEs, and suppliers, partnering with program IPT leads, chief engineers, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and test facilities. You'll own the end to end mechanical design lifecycle—creating new 3D models, updating legacy drawings, managing Technical Data Packages and Change Notices—while navigating the fast paced, concurrent development and production environment of PrSM Increment 1.
Your responsibilities will include:
Direct technical oversight of the mechanical design team, ensuring design integrity, affordability, and schedule compliance. Coordination with additive manufacturing and traditional production lines to resolve hardware issues quickly. Management of supplier relationships, including travel as needed for source part validation and quality audits. Development, review, and release of 3D models, detailed drawings, Technical Data Packages, and change documentation. Acting as the technical conscience for the program: enforce engineering processes, champion customer focus, and drive continuous improvement. Coaching, mentoring, and career development of direct reports; assigning work, providing regular feedback, and advocating for growth opportunities. Leading recruitment, onboarding, performance assessments, salary planning, and recognition/disciplinary actions for the team. Collaborating with program management, test facilities, and the USG customer to align engineering deliverables with mission requirements. Supporting department initiatives that advance technical excellence, cost effectiveness, and program execution. You'll thrive in a collaborative, high impact environment where strong technical leadership directly shapes a cutting edge missile program. We seek a proactive manager who inspires a talented engineering team, drives innovative solutions, and balances rigorous engineering standards with real world production realities. In this role you'll gain visibility across senior leadership, influence a critical defense capability, and enjoy a culture that rewards mentorship, continuous learning, and decisive action. If you're ready to lead a dynamic team, solve complex hardware challenges, and accelerate a mission critical program, we want you on board.
