Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer - Gregory, TX Our client is seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to work within their facilities located in Gregory, TX, for an initial one-year assignment. Assigned position is in a multi-discipline Project Management Team (PMT) that provides general Engineering and Construction oversight support during EPC phases of base load natural gas liquefaction/LNG export plant projects. The assignment period includes tasks and activities for front end works, engineering, procurement support and assistance, design, construction, startup and commissioning, and plant operations after handover. The assigned work location will be onsite at the client's construction offices in Gregory, TX with occasional business travel to the office in Houston, TX during FEED and engineering & procurement phase of projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide Company controls to the safe work of the EPC contractor and subcontractors. Monitor the installation of equipment daily and assure adherence to approved designs, project specifications, best industry practice, schedule and budget that comply with safety and environmental regulations/procedures, and other statutory requirements. Monitor plant and equipment performance during commissioning and startup by reviewing production and controls data and identify and recommend opportunities for improvement. Respond to Request for Information (RFIs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's), and Field Change Documents (FCD's), from internal stakeholders and EPC contractors and their sub-contractors. Support the Management of Change process for all plant modifications, review and approve changes through the change order process and verify that documents and drawings are up to date. Assist with developing responses to questions from regulators including
FERC/PHMSA
Participate in Model Reviews, Process Hazard Analysis, HAZOPS and other formal hazard assessment groups. Review design drawings related to mechanical equipment and project specifications for accuracy and compliance with the Project requirements during EPC and turnover phases of projects. Provide technical guidance for mechanical equipment qualifications, selection, procurement, design, shop testing witnessing and acceptance, site installations, and plant commissioning and start up planning.
Required Skills:
Understanding of facets of LNG processing, storage and transportation including health, safety, maintenance, operations, governmental regulations and associated codes and standards. Knowledge of installation and commissioning, plant maintenance philosophies and design, and operation of equipment and systems within the terminal. Knowledge of FERC, USCG, DOT and OSHA regulations. Knowledge of the design, installation, operation and maintenance of rotating equipment including centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, dry gas seal systems, process pumps and lubrication systems. Knowledge of plant maintenance philosophies and working experience of plant maintenance systems is also required. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, ASTM, ISO) A high level of safety awareness and knowledge of applicable LNG regulations is required. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and organizational skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Computer literate with typical office packages
Education/Experience:
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, and a Professional Engineering License in good standing with at least one state is .
