) Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience) Strong technical aptitude for applying mechanical engineering skills to solve open-ended technical problems Effective presentation and technical communication skills with both internal and external audiences Desired Characteristics Product knowledge of Oil & Gas rigs, both onshore and offshore Experience designing pressure containing or load-bearing oil and gas equipment such as land or subsea BOPs, drilling risers, connectors, diverters, hydraulic control systems or similar equipment Basic understanding of general material types, coating types, manufacturing techniques, and non-destructive examination methods Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancingANSI Y14.5M
