Job Description

Position Overview The Mechanical Engineering Lead provides technical leadership and oversight for mechanical engineering activities supporting power generation and natural gas infrastructure projects. This role includes managing design, maintenance, and integrity of mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. The position also involves coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical engineering efforts across projects including design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering staff and external partners. Oversee design and specification of systems such as turbines, compressors, pumps, piping, pressure vessels, and related structures. Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (process, electrical, controls, civil) for integrated project execution. Review and approve engineering deliverables such as drawings, calculations, and specifications. Conduct mechanical integrity assessments, failure investigations, and root cause analyses. Support procurement by evaluating vendor proposals and ensuring alignment with project specifications. Manage project schedules, budgets, and engineering resources. Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and environmental compliance efforts. Facilitate communication across engineering, operations, and contractor teams. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability. Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and outage activities. Contribute to emergency response efforts when required. Ensure adherence to organizational safety policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
Experience & Expertise:
Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience, preferably in power generation or energy infrastructure environments. Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and complex engineering projects. Strong knowledge of mechanical design practices, equipment specifications, and applicable industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI). Experience with mechanical systems such as turbines, compressors, pumps, valves, and piping. Familiarity with engineering design software (e.g., CAD tools). Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Experience with performance monitoring, optimization tools, and vendor coordination. Knowledge of process safety and related regulatory frameworks. Proficiency in standard office software tools.
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver's license required. Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
