Driven by a vision of a more sustainable future, we've developed carbon-free energy solutions that leverage ammonia as an alternative fuel to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors, including maritime shipping and stationary power generation. Join our dynamic team as we accelerate the commercialization of our technology and revolutionize the future of energy.
Location:
This position is fully onsite at our Houston, TX location. We are also open to considering candidates based in Brooklyn, NY.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on Staff Mechanical Engineer with strong mechanical design experience for complex metal components and assemblies exposed to thermal, pressure, structural, and manufacturing constraints to execute research and development projects from concept to scale-up. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to design, analyze, integrate, and test reactor and separation technologies for Amogy's next-generation power solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and optimization of mechanical structures and assemblies for ammonia cracking and separation systems.

Own assigned designs from concept through release, including 3D modeling, material selection, structural/thermal analysis, design for manufacturing and assembly, equipment selection, and detailed engineering drawing generation.

Coordinate with cross functional teams, including FEA/CFD analysis and modeling, manufacturing, process, and testing teams, to complete project objectives.

Own/track schedules for assigned workstreams and supplier deliverables.

Contribute to, improve, and maintain mechanical engineering design practices, frameworks, and best-practices.

Define and maintain mechanical requirements for temperature, pressure, load cycles, leak tightness, manufacturability, inspection, and test acceptance for assigned elevated-temperature devices.

Provide technical mentorship and training for mechanical engineers, technologists, and technicians.
