Job Description

Confidential Opportunity - Mechanical Engineer (Mission Critical Facilities) | Dallas, TX A highly respected and growing engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its Dallas office. This is a confidential opportunity to work on complex, multi-discipline projects with a focus on mission-critical facilities and high-performance building systems. The firm delivers mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering solutions across a range of technically demanding projects, including new construction and renovation work. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of mechanical system design while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver coordinated, code-compliant, and constructable solutions. This position is well suited for a technically strong engineer who is ready to take a lead role within project teams, contribute to design strategy, and support the successful delivery of high-impact building systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, constraints, and success criteria Develop mechanical design solutions and evaluate technical alternatives with consideration for performance, cost, and risk Lead the development of mechanical design documents including conceptual design, equipment selection, construction drawings, specifications, and energy modeling Coordinate across all disciplines to ensure fully integrated and constructible designs Manage client expectations throughout the design and delivery process Communicate effectively with internal teams, external consultants, and vendors to meet project goals and schedules Serve as Mechanical Lead Engineer on assigned projects, including review of design calculations and quality control of deliverables Support construction administration including RFIs, submittals, and site visits Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in the MEP consulting engineering industry Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or higher Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain through NCEES Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems design Experience working in multi-discipline project environments Excellent communication and coordination skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with Revit Experience with mission-critical or complex facility design Strong commitment to quality design and client service Interest in mentoring and developing junior staff
