Job Description
Job Summary Traxxas is seeking professional and enthusiastic hands-on Mechanical Engineers with strong design skills, excellent mechanical aptitude, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, product development environment, with strong technical communication skills. This role offers the opportunity to work across all phases of vehicle design—from concept through production—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to market. Responsibilities Develop mechanical designs from initial concept through final production release Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings Collaborate with cross-functional teams during development and product release Support product validation through the development and execution of test plans Build, test, and iterate prototypes in a hands-on environment Contribute to multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Experience managing projects and coordinating across cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing) 1-3 years of experience with 3D CAD software for solid modeling and assembly design (SolidWorks, Creo/Pro-Engineer, CATIA, or similar) Proficiency in MS Office applications. Experience leading or contributing to engineering teams in product development for mid-high volume consumer products Working knowledge of common manufacturing processes (injection molding, extrusion, machining, stamping, plating, anodizing, etc). Experience leading in the development of complete systems/assemblies (e.g. ground-up radio-controlled vehicle) from concept through production release. Personal passion for high-performance vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, marine, or aerospace) Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams and international manufacturing partners Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, including prototyping, assembly, and testing Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical intuition Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, hands-on development environment Thrives in an iterative, prototype-driven design environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Also Include:
Hands-on experience with hobby-level RC products. Understanding of vehicle dynamics (land, sea, or air) in full-scale or hobby-class applications Participation as a main contributor or leadership role in collegiate design programs such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, or similar Ability to develop creative engineering solutions to complex design problems Experience coordinating with Asia-based and international manufacturing partners on production and qualityBenefits:
