Position Summary:
The Mechanical Operations Manager role is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient execution of HVAC and mechanical scopes, meeting strict timelines and delivering exceptional client satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, operational leadership, and a customer-focused mindset within high-availability environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise as an SME for all mechanical opportunities and projects. Support proposal development, pricing and scope definition for new opportunities. Build and manage a competent team of individuals and subcontractors to execute all mechanical scopes. Ensure projects are executed in line with company's and client's safety, budgetary and schedule expectations. Enforce a zero-tolerance safety culture, ensuring all personnel adhere to OSHA standards, NFPA 70E guidelines, and client-specific site safety requirements. Develop and manage comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation charts to effectively execute multiple concurrent projects. Enforce strict adherence to the company's processes and procedures. Serve as the main daily contact to communicate and coordinate closely with company and client stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships. Ensure mechanical scopes of work are executed without disrupting client operations. Manage operations budgets, labor costs, and subcontractor expenses. Identify cost savings opportunities while maintaining a high level of execution.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of all types of mechanical scopes including, but not limited to, HVAC, wet and dry mechanical, piping, and insulation. 10+ years of experience in mechanical operations. 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams. Experience in data centers, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments. Experience estimating and bidding mechanical scopes of work. Experience managing client relationships. Experience in multi-stage or regional operations management. Proficiency with project management software, cost-tracking tools, and blueprint document control systems. Professional certifications (PE, CEM, PMP, HVAC certifications, licensing, etc.)

Work Environment:
Hybrid operational setting balanced between a professional office or regional hub and on-site field visits to oversee technical teams and subcontractors Active construction and industrial conditions, varying temperatures and tight mechanical/electrical spaces Mandates an absolute zero-tolerance safety culture
Physical Demands:
Ability to walk, stand and safely navigate industrial manufacturing facilities, data center floors and active construction zones for extended periods Strong visual acuity required to read, interpret and audit detailed electrical blueprints, P&IDs, complex technical schematics, and digital project management software Ability to travel regionally and drive to multiple concurrent project sites

Pay:
$125,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
