The Product Engineer II designs, develops, tests, and sustains mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems for FCB machines, components, prototypes, and devices in accordance with customer and agency requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop the full project life cycle and lead cost savings projects by collaborating with cross functional teams to accomplish assigned tasks, manage the project schedule and budget, and resolve obstacles to achieve the strategic goal, with minimal/no supervision. Maximize project efficiency and profitability. Develop technical design (component specification and selection), development (prototyping and testing), and certification (agency and regulatory requirements) of mechanical structuring and fluid systems equipment. Coordinate and manage the integration of new designs and/or design improvements into the product commercialization process. Develop new assembly and/or machine configurations to meet specific customer needs and expand product lines. Generate models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or Parametric Solid Modeling. Evaluate and create production deviations, engineering models and drawings, Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Bills of Materials. Follow and maintain methods and procedures for the transfer of design packages including part and assembly drawings, P & ID Diagrams; BOMs, and other documentation required. Communicate with customers and vendors on requirements and materials needed for project completion. Provide technical support to product engineering, sales, customer service, quality, and manufacturing departments. Participate in investigations and resolve field problems and customer issues related to specific products. Collaborate and align with Embedded Systems and Electrical Engineers to develop effective and efficient systems. Able to establish validation plans to ensure design meets appropriate lifecycle and regulatory standards. Facilitate and participate in project reviews and meetings. Perform other duties as needed and assigned. Minimum Qualifications - Education/Experience:
Must have a Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related degree. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or equivalent, designing, developing, and specifying electro-mechanical parts and equipment. Design Project Management experience required. Must have technical curriculum or knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow, materials science, and/or electro-mechanics. Experience in the use of parametric solid modeling software such as SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Inventor, Mechanical Desktop, Pro-E, or Unigraphics, preferred. Direct experience in one or more of the following areas: precision mechanics, refrigeration, electromechanical systems, pneumatics, and design with sheet metal and plastics (injection and thermoforming). Must have technical curriculum knowledge in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamic analysis of vapor compression refrigeration cycles; experience preferred. Must be proficient in the use of industry best practices for engineering design (PFMEA, DFMEA, etc). Must have basic statistical knowledge. Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Professional Engineer license ot applying for Professional Engineer license preferred. Must be fluent in English and must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and a reference check . Physical Demands:
Required to sit, type, have eye/hand/foot coordination, occasionally stand, and walk. Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position works in a typical office, manufacturing, and lab environment. Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors.
