Mechanical Engineer
PE - AEC
We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering sustainable, practical engineering solutions across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, municipal, and mixed-use sectors. This mid to senior-level role is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who enjoys both technical design and project management responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead small to mid-sized HVAC and plumbing design projects while collaborating closely with clients, architects, contractors, and internal engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical and plumbing system design for a variety of building types
  • Design HVAC systems including chilled water, boiler systems, VAV systems, heat pumps, cooling towers, exhaust systems, and process cooling applications
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and coordination activities
  • Attend client and project meetings as a technical representative
  • Review equipment installation and support construction administration activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional collaboration
  • Coordinate space planning, mechanical room layouts, and clash/conflict identification
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Minimum 2+ years of post-licensure experience in HVAC/plumbing design for commercial or industrial projects
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience:
  • Consulting engineering background
  • Experience across healthcare, education, industrial, hospitality, or historical projects
  • Familiarity with HAP, Trace, Bluebeam, or similar design software
  • Involvement in professional engineering associations
