24-Month (2-Year) W2 Contract initially About the Role We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support new product introduction and manufacturing operations within a fast-paced production environment. This role will work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, support prototype and pilot builds, and improve overall product performance, safety, and manufacturing efficiency. This is a hands-on engineering position with time split between desk-based engineering work and the factory floor. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications. Key Responsibilities Research, design, develop, test, and support mechanical components, tools, equipment, and systems. Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and quality teams to troubleshoot production and product issues. Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for safety, quality, and production concerns. Coordinate and complete on-engine fit-ups for new component designs. Support prototype and pilot builds for new product introduction (NPI) programs. Gather, document, and communicate build issues and symptoms to off-site product design teams. Analyze customer specifications, manuals, and design proposals to evaluate project feasibility, timelines, and costs. Assist with structural and mechanical product design development using CAD tools and engineering software. Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, manufacturability, and operational efficiency. Team & Work Environment Team Structure Individual contributor role with close collaboration across manufacturing and product design teams. Co-located team of 4 onsite team members in Seguin, TX. Engineering management and product design teams are based in Mossville, IL. Work Environment Approximately 50% desk work and 50% factory floor support. PPE required while on the production floor, including: Safety glasses Bump cap Safety shoes Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. Open to candidates with a Master's degree. Associate degree candidates considered with 3+ years of relevant experience. 0-2 years of engineering experience. Internship experience accepted. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical engineering capability. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Familiarity with 3D modeling and CAD software. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) principles. Exposure to manufacturing, quality, or product engineering environments. Office 365 proficiency. Strong time management and organizational skills. Self-starter mentality with a high level of accountability. Creativity, innovation, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
