Job Description

BFX Fire Apparatus is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of custom fire trucks and emergency vehicles. This position will work closely with production, purchasing, and engineering teams to deliver innovative apparatus solutions. Responsibilities Design structural and mechanical systems for fire apparatus Develop CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation Perform engineering calculations and design analysis Support prototype builds and product testing Troubleshoot manufacturing and field issues Collaborate with vendors and suppliers on component integration Improve product performance, reliability, and manufacturability Ensure compliance with NFPA, DOT, and industry standards Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering 3+ years of engineering experience Proficiency in SolidWorks Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Preferred Qualifications Automotive, commercial truck, emergency vehicle, trailer, or heavy equipment experience Experience with structural analysis and FEA EIT or PE certification Knowledge of fabrication, welding, hydraulics, and vehicle systems Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Professional development opportunities Opportunity to help build life-saving emergency vehicles
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
