Job Requirements Arlington, VA Top Secret Polygraph not specified Senior Level Career (10+ yrs experience) $180,000 - $200,000 Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in diesel generators and digital twin modeling to support advanced engineering and simulation initiatives. This role will focus on developing high-fidelity digital twins of generator systems using multiphysics modeling and CFD tools to support performance optimization, reliability, and mission-critical operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, validate, and maintain digital twin models of diesel generator systems, incorporating real-world performance data
  • Utilize Simcenter STAR-CCM+ to perform 3D CFD and multiphysics simulations, including thermal, fluid, and structural analysis
  • Model and analyze generator subsystems, including cooling systems, fuel systems, and associated chiller integration
  • Conduct system-level simulations to evaluate performance, efficiency, and failure modes under varying operating conditions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate modeling outputs into design, testing, and operational strategies
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization efforts through simulation-driven insights
  • Document modeling methodologies, assumptions, and results for technical and programmatic stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable security and program requirements Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required
  • 5+ years of experience working with diesel generators and associated mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated experience building or supporting digital twin models for complex mechanical systems
  • Strong proficiency with Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for CFD
