Job Requirements Dahlgren, VA Secret Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Description CPT is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support the Gun Weapon Systems Division (E30) at NSWC Dahlgren. This role directly supports U.S. Navy gun weapon system development, evaluation, and sustainment programs in a collaborative, mission-critical environment. Key Responsibilities Support mechanical systems requirements management and engineering design activities for Gun Weapon System components and assemblies. Assist with mechanical design, integration, and documentation tasks using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer. Participate in design reviews and engineering working groups supporting E30 Gun Weapon Systems development. Assist senior engineers in mechanical systems test planning, evaluation, and data collection. Prepare and review technical documentation, engineering drawings, and design specifications. Support mechanical systems troubleshooting and engineering change activities in coordination with program teams. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline. 0-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering design or related field. Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer, or equivalent). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Desired Skills & Experience Secret clearance (strongly desired); must be eligible to obtain. Academic or internship experience with defense systems, weapons, or naval engineering. Familiarity with
MIL-SPEC
documentation and government engineering processes. Experience or coursework in mechanical systems integration or manufacturing processes.
