Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer to lead complex mechanical analyses supporting fuel assembly design, qualification, and operational performance. This role requires strong independent judgment, deep analytical expertise, and the ability to develop, adapt, and apply methods to non standard engineering challenges. The engineer will execute advanced analyses—including seismic load evaluation, irradiation growth prediction, and rod and/or assembly bending behavior—while defining technical scope, proposing analytical approaches, and delivering high quality results. Responsibilities include technical reviews, risk and failure analyses (RCA, ACA, FMEA), regulatory compliance support, and providing technical input to business and design decisions. As a technical leader, this role serves as a subject matter expert, mentors engineers through qualification and QA processes, and drives continuous improvement in analytical tools, methods, and engineering practices. Pay Range is between $62-$90/hour depending on years of relevant experience & other qualifications as determined by team.   •  Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical and structural/stress analysis
  •  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., Engineering Physics, Engineering Technology, or Engineering Science)
  •  Demonstrated ability to translate analytical results into practical, value added product or system applications
  •  Proven experience mentoring and technically guiding engineers on complex assignments
  •  Strong ability to work within rigorous, requirements driven and highly regulated environments, including compliance protocols typical of the nuclear industry
  •  Experience with Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar programming languages
  •  Familiarity with ASME Section III
  •  Proficiency in ANSYS or similar finite element analysis (FEA) software
  •  Prior experience within the nuclear industry
  •  Master's or PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  •  Prior teaching, training, or instructional experience
