SSI is seeking an Engineer Mech Sr to work onsite at a Navy program in Norfolk, VA
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical support in the principles, techniques and practices of mechanical engineering, electrical/electronics engineering and/or naval architecture as they relate to aircraft carrier hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E), aviation and electronic shipboard systems. These tasks require extensive knowledge in the area of, but not limited to aircraft carrier maintenance philosophy, ship installation drawings, RCM principles and ship operations as well as the ability to organize data in a cohesive manner to submit finding for evaluation and action Provide technical support for the development and management and refinement of the non-nuclear CMP, BAWPs and modernization for execution during CVN availabilities.? Requires ensuring technical requirements, periodicities and associated configuration are current within each assigned CMP maintenance requirement Collect, manage and analyze data (e.g., maintenance, risk, material condition) of specified systems or components based on specific criteria and submit finding for evaluation and action Assist in development of life-cycle strategies for aircraft carrier distributive systems and select components Develop, maintain and report metrics as required
