Job Description

Talascend is currently seeking a Thermal Hydraulics Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Bellevue, Washington . Overview Support methodology development, analysis, and design efforts of reactor core for a sodium-cooled reactor program. Perform thermal-hydraulics analysis, contribute to the test program, and evaluate the behavior of advanced energy systems under various conditions. Responsibilities Perform the thermal-hydraulics analysis using in-house subchannel analysis software to assess various scenarios that feed into reactor safety design parameters. Perform work under the scope of the company's quality assurance program and following the company's quality assurance requirements. Perform origination and/or design verification reviews of calculation products following the company's policies and procedures. Deliver complete, correct, and error-free deliverables in accordance with performance guarantees, specifications, and applicable laws. Qualifications B.S, M.S., or Ph.D. in mechanical, nuclear, or other relevant technical engineering area from an accredited university. Minimum of 10 years of experience in thermal hydraulic analysis with a B.S. degree, or 8+ years with an M.S. or Ph.D. degree with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work. 8+ years' experience in nuclear systems thermal-hydraulic behavior and analyses. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in advanced liquid metal-cooled nuclear reactor core design and thermal hydraulic analysis using software such as
SE2-ANL, COBRA, VIPRE.
Strong understanding of uncertainty quantification, verification, and validation. Strong communication skills desired. High degree of trust, integrity, open communication, respect, and teamwork.
