 Liaison Design Engineers (multiple positions)

Job Duties:

Work with local and offshore engineering teams on the design, development, and implementation of vehicle systems and components for heavy and medium duty trucks. Serve as interface between domestic and offshore automotive engineering teams, representing the offshore team at on-site meetings and collecting information on factory assembly processes. Collect requirements, transfer technical data, manage queries, communicate status, and ensure deliverables meet expectations. Apply knowledge of commercial vehicle engineering, chassis design and construction, suspension system design, automotive steering system design, and vibration isolation systems. Maintain detailed working knowledge of engineering aspects of vehicle projects.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field or foreign equivalent degree and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate commercial vehicle experience, including at least 5 years of experience in each of the following: 1. Designing and implementing complex designs for heavy/medium duty tuck structure and interior systems using engineering skills and knowledge of truck performance environments. 2. Building and maintaining a professional network of stakeholders across project management, engineering and supporting functions. 3. Managing priorities and goals for engineering projects and presenting designs to engineering leadership. 4. Applying Design for Six Sigma tools (DFMEA and DFMA), defining GD&T strategies, and performing tolerance stack-up to optimize design. 5. Creating 3D CAD models and assemblies of truck components, conducting packaging and clearance studies using CAD Tool "Creo Parametric". 6. Working with diverse manufacturing processes (injection molding, compression molding, and sheet metal operations) and materials (plastics and steel) to design and optimize truck components for performance and manufacturability. 7. Coordinating project teams internationally across multiple time zones, offering technical expertise and guidance, reviewing the quality of deliverables, capturing feedback and handling escalations where performance does not meet expectations. 8. Conducting Finite Element Analysis, durability testing, prototype and field tests to ensure designs meet technical specifications, regulatory, and strength requirements. Experience may be gained concurrently.

SALARY:

$115,175 - $136,300/year. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, as a
