Salary:
$105,000-$125,000 + Benefits Overview We are seeking a Project Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and execution of custom industrial gas and process systems from concept through commissioning. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning projects, developing system designs, creating P&IDs, sizing equipment, working directly with fabrication teams, and supporting startup activities. The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Develop system designs based on customer requirements Create and review P&IDs, equipment layouts, and mechanical designs Size and select valves, pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and related equipment Collaborate with fabrication, production, controls, and engineering teams Develop BOMs, technical documentation, and test plans Support fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning activities Manage engineering deliverables, schedules, and technical project execution Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, suppliers, and internal teams Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 3-8 years of experience in mechanical, systems, process, or project engineering Experience with industrial fluid, gas, thermal, or process systems Experience developing P&IDs and mechanical system designs Knowledge of valves, pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and piping systems Familiarity with ASME codes and pressure systems preferred Experience working with fabrication and manufacturing teams Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Excel Preferred Experience Gas systems, energy systems, hydrogen, or industrial equipment OEM or custom-engineered equipment environments Factory testing, startup, commissioning, or field support Controls and instrumentation exposure Ideal Candidate Strong mechanical systems engineer with hands-on project ownership Comfortable leading projects from concept through commissioning Able to balance design, manufacturing, and customer requirements Enjoys solving real-world engineering challenges in both office and shop-floor environments
Pay:
$105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
