Colliers Engineering & Design is a trusted provider of multi-discipline engineering and architecture, design and consulting services to public and private sector clients. We specialize in providing a comprehensive suite of services including civil/site, architecture, transportation, survey/geospatial, infrastructure, governmental, geotechnical/environmental, telecommunications, utilities/energy and project management. We provide a full range of mechanical engineering services to municipal, commercial, higher education and public works agencies, partnering with clients to design buildings from the ground-up or to renovate existing buildings to optimize their use. From designing new and renovated systems, to providing both new building commissioning and retro-commissioning services, count on our team to develop a building solution that is both cost-effective and achieves our clients' goals. Our engineers work with clients from concept through construction to create customized, cost-effective solutions that enhance the health, welfare, safety and comfort of building occupants. We understand sustainability and the importance of ensuring that high performance buildings perform as designed. Our designs emphasize performance and are built with long-term facility operations in mind. Decisions are driven by objective data and in-depth client collaboration. Responsibilities Assist in the architectural application of electrical engineering, including power systems, lighting design, generator design, campus electrical infrastructure, etc. Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures, using knowledge of building codes and regulations to create/modify designs and drawings. Participate in design development. Creation of electrical specification packages. Verify that all design aspects comply with local code and apply code provisions. Assist in the development of project proposals and client presentations and attend client meetings. Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations and document. Assist in research related to material qualities, feasibility, restrictions, etc. Suggest new ideas and processes, stay informed of developments in practice areas, and view obstacles as opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 8+ years mechanical (architectural) design experience, specifically with industrial project design. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus but not required. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Ability to research code provisions, products, material information, etc. Ability to coordinate information exchange between clients, project manager, and project team. Willingness to mentor new designers and/or interns. Able to be a team player and work independently. Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation:
