Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and drafters while mentoring junior team members Perform building system assessments, document existing conditions, and prepare reports with refurbishment or replacement recommendations Develop scopes of work for mechanical system designs Present mechanical design concepts, challenges, and solutions clearly to owners and project teams Perform heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation analysis, and mechanical equipment selection Design HVAC systems using BIM tools, including layouts and system visualization Integrate sustainability strategies and best practices into building designs Ensure designs meet client expectations, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements Prepare probable construction cost estimates for mechanical systems Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal disciplines Research emerging technologies, products, and mechanical systems Compile system specifications, schedules, and construction details Perform field observations and verify adherence to design intentWhat You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 4+ years of mechanical design experience for buildings in healthcare, education, community, or commercial markets Designer of Engineering Systems (DES) credential or Professional Engineer (PE) license LEED accreditation preferred Demonstrated project experience with a strong technical portfolio Experience with Revit, BIM software, and Bluebeam preferred Experience with Carrier Hourly Analysis preferred, but not requiredSimilar remote jobs
