Pay:
$58.26 - $63.00 per hour 26-05047 Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting sustaining engineering activities related to product improvements, change control management, verification testing, and manufacturing support within a regulated environment. This role involves executing engineering changes, updating CAD models and drawings, supporting validation and verification activities, troubleshooting manufacturing and equipment issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical design experience, analytical problem-solving abilities, and experience working within medical device or other regulated manufacturing environments. Job Responsibilities Manage and execute change controls from initiation through final closeout using document control systems Create and revise CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks for continuous improvement initiatives Support design updates involving machined metal, plastic, and sheet metal components Develop, execute, and document verification and validation activities including protocols, testing, and final reports Route and maintain engineering documentation in compliance with SOPs, traceability requirements, and approval workflows Perform part measurements, tolerance analysis, and statistical analysis to support engineering changes and assembly stack-up evaluations Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and collaborating with Operations and Quality teams to implement corrective actions Support design and maintenance of mechanical enclosures and test system components Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation to support fixture design and troubleshooting efforts Specify, source, and build test fixtures and related mechanical assemblies Identify root causes of mechanical and process issues and implement corrective actions Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, GDP, and GMP practices Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to coordinate engineering projects and support activities Maintain accurate technical records and engineering documentation Provide technical guidance and support to team members and manufacturing personnel Estimate labor and material requirements for engineering projects and repair activities Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment Support sustaining and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required Minimum of 5-10 years of related engineering experience required Strong experience using SolidWorks for CAD design and engineering drawing revisions Experience managing engineering change controls and documentation systems Knowledge of verification and validation processes within regulated environments Ability to perform tolerance analysis, measurements, and statistical evaluations Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Experience supporting small to medium-sized continuous improvement projects preferred Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment Ability to adapt and reprioritize tasks to support manufacturing floor needs Familiarity with GMP, GDP, and regulated manufacturing environments preferred Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Work Experience Previous experience in sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, or mechanical engineering required Medical device or other regulated industry experience preferred Experience supporting manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives preferred Experience with GD&T and project management activities is a plus Familiarity with Windows-based test systems preferred #ZR About Equiliem Equiliem believes in empowering success.
